  1. Great read - it's pretty clear Neil Tennant wasn't thrilled were the musical trends were going at that moment. Big swings and misses on negative reviews for Dead or Alive, ABC, Art of Noise, Eurythmics, New Edition singles and postive reviews for Sylvester and Blue Nile.

  2. Wow there's a lot to offer for an 80's music lover like me in this edition of Smash Hits !
Lyrics for Nik Kershaw's The Riddle, Dead Or Alive's You Spin Me Round, Cyndi Lauper's All Through The Night, Limalh's The Neverending Story, ads for Wham!'s album Make It Big, Kim Wilde's album Teases And Dares, Madonna's single Like A Virgin.

And it's great to read what Neil Tennant of The Pet Shop Boys thought (then) about songs from Culture Club, Dead Or Alive, Nik Kershaw etc.
